Breast reduction or reduction mammaplasty is the prescribed solution for alleviating the discomfort caused by excessively large breasts. Corrective surgery is required to remove excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size in proportion with the rest of the body. Overly large breasts cause both physical and mental agony to many women. Some of the associated problems are chronic back, neck and shoulder pain, deep grooves in the shoulder caused by bra strap pressure, skin irritation or rashes under the breasts, low hanging breasts, stretched skin, enlarged areolas, restricted physical activity, difficulty in movement, low self-esteem, and inability to comfortably fit into or look desirable in certain clothes or lingerie.

| If you feel any of the above mentioned problems are restricting your lifestyle, preventing you from enjoying your life to the fullest and from being a confident, attractive woman, then you should consider a
breast reduction surgery. |

| At Dr. Savalia’s clinic at Newport Beach, we evaluate your case history and your reasons for choosing this procedure. Although breast reduction surgery can be performed on women of all ages, it is recommended that you are at least 20 years of age, by which time your breasts would have been fully developed. Each case is unique for us and we are determined to give you personalized attention so that you get the right advice and surgical options for your requirement. |

| Typically, a lollipop-shaped or an anchor-shaped incision will be made that goes around the areola, down the breast toward the crease between the breast and abdomen, and, for an anchor-shape, horizontally in the crease under the breast. The excess breast tissue, fat and skin will be removed to reduce the size of your breast. The surgery may last two to three hours and you may be required to stay overnight following the surgery. Rest and recuperation is advised for two to three weeks. |
